Every time I switch to a new Gillete razor (sensor, sensor excel, mach 1, mach 2, mach 3, etc.), I swear it will be my last change. Each razor seems better than the last, and each razor is certainly good enough. But Gillette keeps innovating, and the shave does keep getting better. The Gillette Fusion has (I think) five blades on the main shaving surface, and the back of the razor doubles as a sideburn clipper. The shave is something like running a zamboni over your face - it's such a wide shaving surface that the scruff just comes off.But that being said, these things just keep getting pricier and pricier. The Fusion is something like $12 off the bat, without replacement cartridges. And I don't really understand what the battery power is for, and I I'm skilled enough to use the normal shaving surface on my sideburns without needing the blade on the back.I think I'm done upgrading - the Gillette Fusion will be my last switch.

I got one of these (the powered version) for free at a consumer fair, and enjoy it a lot. It is a comfortable shave, and the light vibration makes it quick and pleasurable. The downside is that replacement cartridges are hardly cheap, and I'm not sure the quality is a big enough set-off for the expense.

Worst shave I ever experienced. My wife bought me the fusion to try it out. I used it on about a week of growth brand new out of the box. It pulled the hairs more than a dry shave in basic training. My mach 3 with old blades wasn't as painful. I tried the other cartridge incase it was just a bad cartridge and it was just as painful. For the price and the pain I will not go back. Perhaps I just got some dull blades but I'm happy with the Mach 3 so I won't buy new blades for the fusion. Also, the 6th straight razor blade is handy for getting under your nose. But that is because the 5 blade cartridge is so wide it doesn't fit under your nose. I never had that problem with the Mach 3. My overall impression is that 5 blades is a lot of hype. The Mach 3 works great, I can't tell a difference other than price between Mach 3 and Mach 3 Turbo. After a month of painful shaves with the Fusion, I returned to my Mach 3 with a used cartridge and it was pain free.

Gillette fusion aims at a new market of men who are willing to spend money on their looks. This market has been increasing a lot durin the last years. We have talked about in our blog Men Skin Care Tips, and after ourr eview we find it does its job but is more a luxury product, not necessary to common men.

Absolutely the best razor I ever used! I have a very heavy beard, but this little wonder plows right through it with no nicks or cuts. I used to dread shaving, but the 3-blade and 4-blade razors are definitely an improvement, and the Fusion is top-drawer.

First of all, way too expensive. Second, the blades were literally dull as hell after just three uses. Save your money and use Sensor Excel, better performance and MUCH CHEAPER than this piece of crap......

Awesome shave. Surprising difference compared to a 3 blade razor.

I've been reluctant to hop on the 'the-more-blades-the-better' band wagon. However, after trying out a free Fusion razor I received in the mail, I was hooked. I really didn't expect there to be much of a differnce between three blades and five (the sixth blade is on the opposite edge of the cartridge and is good for touch-up work on sideburns or mustache). The shave was amazingly smooth and didn't cause those annoying, itchy, tender 'bumps' I get sometimes after shaving my neck. Five stars all the way.
