To be eligible for the Hall of Fame, it is important for your name to mean something in the world of rock and fans to have some familiarity with a band's music. Motley Crue have cited them as an influence and a few other glam oriented types of bands, but they never really made any memorable music and outside of some diehard fans of Hanoi Rocks, even hard rock fans would have trouble remembering anything about this band.

If the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was really about rock'n'roll, Hanoi Rocks would be the only 'hair band' (besides the New York Dolls) worthy of membership. But the Hall of Shame is really just about pop music popularity and bad taste rules.

They're nothing on the excellent Mötley Crüe...Kidding, kidding... Hanoi Rocks are pretty decent, but other bands deserve to get in before them.
