Midler is not just a great perforner, but a unique one. The fact that she does other types of music besides rock should be seen as a plus. Does everyone have to be a headbanger to get in? Is there some litmus test that I'm not aware of? If there is, I guess that we should throw Joni Mitchell out.. Midler made the'50's classic "Do You Want to Dance?' her own. Not a rocker? Watch her performance in "The Rose."

NO WAY NO BLOODY WAY NO FIRKCEN WAY will bette midle be inducted. she is nother, hers songs are pure snot. she did not deserve to win song of the year in 1990. metlalica should have been nominated instead of her stupid songwriting team
