If she had some crossover rock & roll appeal like, say, Johnny Cash or Jerry Lee Lewis, I'd say she should be in the Rock & Roll HOF at some point in the future. However, talented though she is, Loretta Lynn is a COUNTRY artist, and they already have their own Hall of Fame of which she was most likely one of the first inductees. If we're going to say Loretta Lynn deserves to be in the Rock & Roll HOF then an equally plausible argument could be made for putting the Sex Pistols or the Dead Kennedys in the Country Music HOF. When we start doing this kind of stuff we start down a very slippery slope. I should think that some of the people who have said Lynn deserves to be in the Rock & Roll HOF would have figured this out by now.

Great Country Artist, but not rock & roll, in any way, shape or form.

Influential as hell but this is the Rock hall not the country hall of fame!

I am not going to hate on Loretta, because she is an excellent COUNTRY musician. But does she really belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? I don't think so. There is NOTHING rock and roll about her...
