The Salomon Tech Amphibian is the most breathable running shoe (NOT sandal) that I've eve found. It's classified as "amphibians" or "sandals", which might explain its relative lack of popularity. What makes this shoe extremely breathable is very simple: the siding is made of mesh more like a fishnet. The diameter of each mesh hole is about 2 mm, so you can see through it. Yet, it's a shoe, fits sunggly on your feet and has a comfortable insole. There are no laces. Instead, a very simple string mechanism lets you tighten the shoe around your foot almost instantly. One other neat feature is its convertibility into a slipper. Simply slide your foot inside and step on the heel. I find this very convenient at the office, when I stay without shoes, and I can quickly slip into them when I have to leave the office. I simply love these shoes. I wear Underarmour running socks and can run for 30 minutes with absolutely no perspiration on my feet. Same socks in normal (thick-siding) shoes and my feet perspire due to lack of ventilation. I simply love these shoes.
