I'm a regular skater and my Vans have lasted me seven months. They only started showing any rips after about 4-5 months. The feel is great, the grip is okay and the designs are pretty good, would recommend for anyone starting out.

they're very long lasting and quite comfortable they'll last you a good year until they start to fade away

They're durable and thats the first thing that keeps me with a company. I've tried plenty of brands (supra, es, nike sb, adidas, etnies, dc, osiris, fallen, emerica, dvs, lakai, ipath, adio, and circa to name a few) and vans have made some of the best vulcanized shoes i have ever skated. hands down.http://www.utilityboardsupply.com/get_list_202.htm

My personal fav. Signature shoes are built much better and last. I skated in cheaper pairs of vans, and they dont last like the pro models. Stick with the pro and classic variants(old school, halfcab). Stay away from the simple made ones

Waffle grip or die. I have been skating vans shoes for about 2 years now and i've liked them more than any other company i've skated in yet. http://www.utilityboardsupply.com/get_list_202.htm

Great shoes and grip

these are the best shoes. My current pair, I have had for three years. I don't skateboard, but these shoes fit better than any other athletic shoe on the market, and they are reasonably priced. They look sharp, too.

Fuck the morons below me... "duuhh they is not rip". Here's a review of THIS SHOE, not just "Vans" in general, or some rapper associated with them. These shoes really made a difference in the way I skate, for the better. I would say they are some of the better skate shoes I've owned (better than my last Emericas, and definitely better than my old DC's and Globes). If you care about skating alone, then these shoes are great, good grip, etc. However, they do rip at a regular shoe's rate (i.e. no skate specific toe cap protection), which is why many little kids below me complain. "My D3's stay together for 12 months!" Well little boys, your plastic shoes and YOUR PERSONAL lack of tricks are what keep them from falling apart. I think it's much more important to have a comfortable, well made skate shoe, despite the rippage potential. As for Josebeaver, maybe you ought to shop for some flashy high heels with jewels around the strap, that might catch your feminine eye... and while you're at it, try out some bright pink griptape...way to stand out with color rather skateboard skills.

The shoes don't stand out at all. There is nothing original about them... and bad grip..

I dont like the flip on ones there gay but i love the old classic ones best for skateing they atend to wear and tair tho :( another thing I started to hate vans cause of that song that was made from some rapper. it was like this I was skate baording and these gangster peaple were telling me vans are gay just like skateing then after the song came out they all are wearing vans it was like WTF? frist they hated vans. but if a rapper says its now the new thing and you get chicks or what ever the hell they said they all were wearing vans that pissed me off.....over all there good shoes

Vans are pretty good shoes. I bought a pair, and it was good to skate in but after a few weeks, it started ripping a little. Then after about 3 months the toe broke apart. But they're still cool to skate in.
jaysix 04/21/2005
The original and still the most core shoes on the market !
