 | scarletfeather (47) 07/23/2008 | I have done both. I liked volunteering for the church better, because I liked working with children.

 | Vudija (92) 04/09/2007 | I never did so with a church or hospital, but I have volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and I give to toy drives and such around the holidays. I always enjoyed doing those kinds of things.

 | CanadaSucks (45) 11/26/2006 | I've spent seven months recovering in a hospital and these people were some of the true angels in my life. . .I want to volunteer, but choices in my life (family, career, suicidal travel schedule) make it impossible. . .it's one of my few regrets. . .

 | kamylienne (77) 11/25/2006 | I've already sort of done this; my family has done volunteer work every Chinese New Year's for many years in conjunction with a neighborhood church. However, I wouldn't mind doing something more active for a hospital. But, due to a lack of experience and skills in medicine (I work at a vet's office, but it's not the same), I'm sticking to volunteering at the local university instead.

 | Molfan (57) 11/25/2006 | when I was a teenager, I was a candy striper at a hospital. that was a nice experience, delivering flowers to patinets. sometimes we would help in the pediatric ward and help feed the little ones. I liked that. this was not in a hospital bu i delivered meals on wheels for 12 years. liked that too. it is only once a month and was fun.

 | BlueOrchid (41) 11/25/2006 | I have done a lot of volunteer work, especially for the Salvation Army toy drive. The school I went to required x number of hours every semester as part of us graduating.

 | LastMessenger3 (40) 11/25/2006 | I actually did. I volunteered in the Greek church last year. I always wanted to spend time in church not as a guest, but rather as an supporter - doing things, being useful, etc. It was such a memorable event, much better and the way more rewarding than I ever imagined.

 | numbah16tdhaha (147) 11/25/2006 | I've volunteered at church many times and its always been kinda fun. The best was when my sister pulled me in to chaparone a junior high group to laser tag game when I was on leave. Hmm... a Marine and a bunch of kids playing a war game? Well, I saw the guys all banding together and decided it was time for school. I joined up with the girls and set most of them in a perimeter with interlocking fields of fire and picked three of them to be my swat team. We ruled them boys that day...
