Not as bad as being a repo person, would rather do this than be a tow truck driver or the people that go around putting the boots on the cars. I would take this job, just wouldn't want it as a career. Someone has to do it too, just think some tickets are over priced. Would be kind of paranoid but you just gotta tell them the ticket is already printing and you can't stop it. Would want to carry pepper spray with me or something though >.< They get good enough money.

This job wouldn't be bad, except if someone comes out while you're writing them a ticket and starts getting really irate... I'd have to watch over my shoulder first, then quickly slip the ticket onto the windshield and duck behind the next car or something.

These people get buckets of hate spewed at them while doing their jobs.

I think there is a show on television that documents the parking attendants in philly, and I have to say I would rather die than go through the torment these poor folks do.

I have no idea if this is actually true, but I've heard that in some cities the parking meters and tickets from meter violations only bring in enough revenue to pay the parking attendants.
Vudija 04/09/2007
Clearly someone has to do it, I couldn't be paid enough to deal with all of that.

Not great, but way better than most on this list.

no one likes to see that person coming. we only have them in downtown area of our city. and boy do they make their rounds. seems like it could be risky too. if they are writing out a ticket and the car owner walks up. have to be desperate to take this job.

There couldn't possibly be a worst job than one where people are actually get paid to actively inflict evil on others; most of the time just because they feel like it. They will wait by a meter that is about to expire. They will sit by a car that's parked in a street cleaning zone and axiously wait for the cleaning time to start. Today I was given a ticket while inside of my car!! I had mistakenly pulled into a spot where street cleaning about to start, then noticed the barely legible sign, and proceeded to start off my car to move. I didn't do as much as even take off my seat belt. Before you knew it the scum of the earth was right by my window with the da*n ticket. If there are any meter maids out there, do you really have to?? Aren't there any other jobs for you where you can actually contribute something positive to society??!! And no, I don't buy the 'revenue' argument - that's what taxes are there for. That's also what moving violation tickets are there for - which are totally legit, since moving violations can put others at risk.

You couldn't pay me enough to be THAT evil.
