Whenever I hear this song start especially if its loud I start to feel like going out to party and dance.

While Talking Heads have more compelling songs than this one, this is a good song that will stay in your head.

I'm not a fan of the song- but three stars at least for being such an 80's song. . .it certainly belongs on a list of defining songs of the decade. . .

As idiosyncratic as the band itself. The 1983 song "Burning Down The House" served as the break-out top-10 hit the Talking Heads had been seeking. That success was due in no small measure to the air-play of it's striking companion video which was well covered by the young MTV network. Oddly, one of the band's previous, less commercially successful, songs "Once In A Lifetime" (1980) enjoyed renewed success concurrent with "Burning Down The House" thanks to that same MTV video coverage. Follow-up chart hits such as "And She Was" (1985) and "Road To Nowhere" (1985) provide fine bookends to the Eno collaboration period of the Talking Heads.
