 | GeminiStars (0) 12/23/2008 | I had the same problem as Mark did below.
I ordered a Soothe and Glow Seahorse for one of my babies christmas presents last Friday morning. I called tonight to see if I would still be getting it by Christmas only to be told that my order was cancelled on Saturday. Why did I not receive an e-mail stating so? It would have been nice to know so I could have bought it somewhere else. Not only that they had already charged my credit card and have not yet refunded my money.
I also asked if they will honor the sale price when I go to reorder it and that was a big "No" too. I think it is BS.

 | MarkWalker56 (0) 12/21/2008 | I only gave it a 1 because I could not figure out how to give them ZERO stars. Their online ordering system does not check for availability and our grandaughter will not be getting her Christmas present as they cancelled our order after charging our credit card.
We are still waiting for the funde to be returned to our account.
Do not count on their web shopping.

 | maroone (0) 12/21/2008 | This is one of the stores we'll be glad to see out of business. We wanted to exchange an unopened gift shipped directly from the company, and the sales lady said that internet purchases cannot be exchanged. Pls note that the original receipt was there, and the item was purchased 1 week ago. I just ended up leaving the toy in the store. Stores that do not have any integrity should not be allowed to operate.

 | jalvino (0) 11/29/2007 | I went to babies r us today to pick up a few things and when I paid I was asked to apply for the babies r us credit card. The 10% discount sounded tempting because I needed a new stroller but didn't have the time to pick one out at that moment. I asked the associate if I could use it online later and she said of course. So I purchased the few items I came in for and left. Later while on the computer I realized not only would the discount not apply but you can't use the credit card online either! So I called customer service and they told me there was nothing they could do to help me. So I opened up a credit card to get 10% off baby food and lotion. Of course they're not going to help me, especially not since I was going to buy a $350 stroller tonight! Companies really need to properly train their employees.

 | Vudija (101) 04/10/2007 | I have tons of baby cousins and such to buy for each year; Toys-R-Us has been a lifesaver the last couple of Christmas seasons...plus, I worked there last season and I'd use it as an excuse to visit my old co-workers haha

 | numbah16tdhaha (165) 04/10/2007 | Seems like everyone comes on here to run their mouth. You didn't have your receipt and now you're cranky? That's just crazy and rest assured, kids, numbah is still a Toys R Us kid...

 | dollfacelenee (0) 04/10/2007 | The straw that broke the giraffe's back. Toys R Us return/and or exchang policy is shameful. My child will definately not be a toys r us kid ANYMORE!
My boss held an easter party and bought 6 toys each for 26 kids. How generous. For Toys r Us to require a gift receipt for every six toys his check out would have been a nightmare. He bought tons of toys not cheap ones either. He distributed the toys so each kid could would have the same amount so at the time of checkout he would not have been able to sort every toy out anyways.
I went to return a Spiderman 3 web blaster which was too big for my son and the box had the Toys R Us sticker on it with the price scratched off.
The new display was right in front of the store Customer Service area. The supposed manager barked at me no receipt no exchange. I had no idea and have spent thousands of dollars this past year with my son and new baby which I registered for. I had not returned anything until now and was treated like a dog!!!!!!
Many stores deal with Fraud and do not have a policy like this! Maybe they should hire better Fraud analysts instead of hurting their business with legitimate customers. Target asked for my drivers liscense once to do an exchange and I didnt mind Walmart always has a great policy, so does Home Depot, Lowes, Sears, etc. Managers should use their brains and discretion before they treat consumers like this.
Toys R Us lost a valuable family for a lowsy $19.99 I also had a $25 gift card that I am asking Toys R Us to reimburse the money to me instead of ever shopping there again!

 | momomatt (0) 02/27/2007 | As of today, Toys R Us will NEVER, EVER get another cent of my money. At one time, this toy store use to be my first choice in places to shop for birthday gifts, christmas gifts, etc. I've spent A LOT of money there, as has my mother who spoils my children far too much. I have tolerated the lack of merchandise in stock and the poor quality of toys I have received from their stores purely for convenience shopping and ease of return. No longer!!!! Since Christmas I have tried to return several gifts my son received. I understand the need for receipts in today's world where so much is purchased over the internet. What put me over the edge was this. Two items which I did not have receipts for were branded in large letters - TOYS R US EXCLUSIVE! Okay fine, I consented, I did not have a receipt and found it too awkward to ask the gift giver who didn't provide one. Today, however, I went to return a Christmas gift that we received just this weekend from a friend we haven't seen in some time. I had both the original receipt AND the gift receipt, but I was told the item could not be returned because the receipt expired yesterday; one day beyond the 90 day limit. (My friend bought the gift on November 26!) That's it, I'm done with this store. I will now make my purchases elsewhere. Other retailers extended their Christmas return policy to accommodate those that shop early or are delayed in their gift giving. You would think that for one day Toys R US wouldn't want to upset a quality customer. Now they compounded the issue. After sharing my story, both my mother and my friend have also drawn the line at this ridiculous retailer. I hope the on-line companies and other outlets put them out of business soon. It's clear from the lack of people and product in their stores that they are already in misery!

 | kk302 (0) 01/11/2007 | I did NOT shop at Toys r us this past christmas season. I will NEVER shop at a Toys r us or Babies r us again. I ordered a high chair. They canceled the order, and then told me 4 weeks later that they had shipped it and then they charged my credit card. I had already ordered another one on Amazon. They were sent as gifts to my SIL. So I had to be the jerky SIL and call her to ask her to return one. Toys r us really put me in a pickle. They will never get another penny of my money.

 | zuchinibut (46) 12/11/2006 | This will be my son's first Christmas, so there is a greater chance than previous that I will make it into Toys "R" Us. I don't plan on shopping there, but my wife and I might get drawn into one for something.

 | Molfan (65) 12/09/2006 | not anymore. for one thing, my kids are past toys. so the only thing we may get there are video games. the second reason is the big toys r us closed. and they opened a smaller scaled down toys r us instead. there were not anywhere near as many choices. and the store was less than half the size. we tried to shop last Christmas for a niece and nephew and left disappointed. so now they get no more than a three.

 | kamylienne (84) 12/09/2006 | I prefer specialized shops. For games, I like going to EB (Electronics Boutique). For pleasant-smelling lotions and body washes, I like going to Victoria's Secret or Bath and Body Works. For candles, I like Yankee Candle. But, for toys, I still love going to Toys R' Us.
It's not what it used to be, that's for sure, and it looks like Toys R' Us is on its way out. But maybe it's the kid in me who loved going to Toys R' Us that still prefers that over going to just the toy section in Target or Walmart.
