 | FranksWildYears (48) 02/20/2007 | The US supported Iraq during its war with Iran and funded the Taliban and Bin Laden during Afghanistan's war with the Soviet Union. It suited their need to manipulate the outcome of international events at that time. Decades later the US showed their thanks to both groups by invading and ousting their former allies. Some friend, eh?

 | Wavebacker (25) 02/19/2007 | True. We sold it ot Iraq in their war vs Iran back when Iran was the bad guy and Iraq ( and Hussein) were on our side.

 | daedalus (33) 12/16/2006 | We certainly did sell him plenty of weapons, but so did Britain and France. So I guess I need an idea of what "much" is to answer. Without a clear definition though I would say, yes, the U.S. did sell Hussein much of his weapons.

 | CanadaSucks (45) 12/15/2006 | One star for the ridiculous "conspiracy" listing. . .there is more than a kernel of truth to this statement. . .one of the many conflicting and dim-bulb foreign policy moves that didn't work out for Washington- a city that (more and more) seems so removed from reality. . .

 | abichara (60) 12/14/2006 | We certainly sold weapons to Saddam Hussein's regime. He was at the time seen as a secularist regime going up against a fundamentalist Iranian state. During the Iran-Iraq War, we did sell weapons to both sides, but much more to Iraq. We built up Saddam Hussein, then we cut him down.
