Easily the first great Sox hurler, Young's pitching was critical in the first Series victory in 1903. To my mind, he's a step behind Clemens and a few others, mostly because of the difference in the eras of the game.

Young won the most games in his long and amazing career with a long since defunct National League team in Cleveland in the 1890's, but is tied with Clemens for the most victories in team history-192. He played for the Red Sox from 1901-1908, and was either the best pitcher in the league or among the very best during that span, and certainly ranks high on the all time Red Sox hurler list.
