Lefty Grove 5

Ill tempered, mean-spirited, highly competitive man, who is arguably the greatest left-handed pitcher of all time. Take a look at the record, then look at his age when he broke into the show. He was 25, coming late because his minor league team held out for more money from the penurious Connie Mack. As Oscar points out, his best years were with the A's, but he still had great (if no longer incredible) stuff, and wasn't afraid to stick one in the batter's ear if he needed to.

Lefty Grove 4

3.5 as a Red Sox pitcher. What a lot of casual fans may not realize is that Grove is one of the greatest major league pitchers of all time- NINE ERA titles, including four by a lefty in Fenway, is astonishing. 300 wins too. Like Foxx, Grove's best years were spent with the great Philadelphia A's team of the late 20's and early 30's, and by the time he got to the Red Sox in '34, he was no longer the fireballer who'd won a monstrous 28 and then 31 games a few years before. He relied more on guile, but did win 20 in '35 and as previously mentioned led the league in ERA there four times. A cantankerous grouch, but a hell of a pitcher, and easy HOF'er.
