The didn't call this guy "The Beast" for nothing. One of the most ferocious hitters ever to terrorize pitchers, Foxx had better years with the A's but was still brilliant with the Sox. Decent defensively, and probably gave up a few years to drinking, but the best 1st baseman in Sox history.

Had most of his very best years with the A's, but still remains the best first baseman in the history of the Red Sox too, he played there from '36 to '42. Won an MVP in '38, and for a long time held the single season Red Sox mark for homers until Ortiz broke it this year. Foxx was an absolute monster at the plate.
