Dolores Hidalgo is a neat little pueblo. Like other pueblos, it features plenty of history (it is closely linked to a leader of the Mexican independence movement), a central zocalo with a pretty church, and lots of narrow, cobble stoned streets. It´s not nearly as well kept as San Miguel de Allende, and not nearly as tourist / gringo friendly. Prices are about 30% cheaper however. I caught this town at the tail end of a long road trip, so I was sort of worn out - hence the three stars, I think. Traffic is an absolute nightmare in this town - if you find yourself headed to Dolores Hidalgo, ditch the car at the first possible opportunity.
