 | discouraged (0) 01/01/2007 | The most creativity this place has is the way the steel doors open to the underground parking lot, and the way the exhibit rooms are arranged in a sort of labyrinth of up the stairs, down the stairs, around the corner, etc. I toured every angle of every room and could not find one thing that appealed to me or that stood out as fantastic or thought-provoking, aside from what is included in my opinion expressed here. In fact, I was so stunned at the lack of real art, that I retraced my steps and looked through it all again because it was hard to believe that I couldn't find even one thing to appreciate. The displays reminded me of the annual art fair in junior high back in public school--artful hopefuls that lacked skill and maturity. There were stuffy looking people walking around seeming to pretend that they "got it." I wanted to scream, "Just because they label it art, doesn't mean that it is." If the emperor isn't wearing any clothes, say so. Take my word for it, and spare yourselves a waste of time.
