I didn't think any of you knew "Nappy" but I really don't consider her a strong candidate. I wouldn't even vote for her and she's my freakin' governor. The best shot she would have is some kind of border security/illegal immigration reform message.

Guys, come on. For 2008? She'll not win a single primary. There is no oxygen in any convention hall for a moderate democrat, the liberal crazies dominate every discussion, every caucus, every election. The two rock stars, who hate each other so devoutly, will hog every microphone from now until election eve unless one drops out somehow. Janet hasn't even given a keynote speech.

Her moderate Democratic credentials, along with her ability to win in a state that leans Republican will help her out in a potential candidacy. She's had some significant accomplishments with issues that are important to the state, including promoting economic growth while protecting and increasing investments in health care and education and water conservation. She gets along well with most factions primarily because she promotes private-public co-opts in several policy areas, thus she doesn't offend the unions or the chamber of commerce types that might vote Republican otherwise. She doesn't seem to be making the moves to run for the Presidency, but she definitely has a chance at the VP slot, considering her accomplishments as governor.

The most underrated Democrat in the U.S., Napolitano has won commanding majorities in predominantly Republican, post-Goldwater Arizona. (The state is currently the best reflection of America's future, with the largest population growth of any state in 2006.) Time Magazine ranks her as one of the best five governors in the nation. She could go from being a longshot (as of December 2006) to a serious contender if other national media outlets also publicize her many accomplishments as governor.
