I'm guessing that the typical politician is a Type-A individual who has sacrificed some monetary wealth in exchange for power, and these types tend to be on the arrogant side (at least they are perceived to be). Depending on one's political persuasion, this is either "give 'em heck" or arrogant; however, those in the center probably don't care much either way. Given that analysis, I can't see either actual or apparent arrogance on the part of the Republicans having much of an effect on the 2006 elections.
