Not to quibble too much, but isn't this a 2007 story?

Having said that, a sad, but probably not immensely significant story.

Sad, tragic, and senseless ending to the life of a man too young to be leaving this planet. There have been some senseless acts that have happened with NFL players in 2006 off the field (numerous arrests,) and the senseless violence that has happened at clubs that some athletes frequent makes some shake their heads. What happened to Williams is just too much to bear. May he rest in peace.

Williams was a 24-year old up and coming star in the NFL, with two kids at home. Seemed like a nice guy by all accounts who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
