Yeah, I laughed when he bounced that one off of his head and over the wall...

He started off mediocre, and went steadily downhill from there. Aside from the properly legendary "header" home run, Canseco regularly over-ran balls hit to him, misjudged flies, collided with his outfield team mates, and generally performed like Moe from the Three Stooges might, had someone signed him to a major league contract.

Got worse and worse as time went on. I don't recall him having a truly horrible fielding reputation when he first came up, though my memory could be faulty: but by the time he left Oakland to drift from club to club, he was certainly frightful in the field...

The ball hit him in the head, for Chrissakes. . .we all know that steroid-monkeys can't field. . .and Jose was too busy admiring his chest in the mirror while ignoring the zits on his back and upper neck to work on his fielding. . .

At least he had pitching to fall back on!

I'm not sure how he ranks among the all-time worst, but he sure looked pretty bafoonish when (what should have been) a routine fly-ball out hit by the Indians Carlos Martinez, bounced off of his head and into the stands for home-run. In what has been dubbed in some circles as "The Dome Run", this incident has caused Jose much deserved grief and ridicule. And to further rub salt in the wound, Canseco was offered a soccer contract from the Harrison Heat following the incident. I hope the list maker doesn't mind, but I took the liberty of adding a video of this incident to this list item for your amusement.
