Having gone through nine divorces, I have a hard time standing up straight.

I sleep on the couch every night, so did my mother come to think of it (not at the same time), and we have strong backs. I guess avoiding an honest days work is the preventative cure for the bad back.

Funny I read this. Last weekend, I was visiting my brother and spent the night over at his house. I decided to sleep on the couch that night, like I sometimes do. The next morning, I woke up with a very bad back-ache that I still have! I certainly hope that's not a sign that I'm getting old! I've never had a problem when sleeping on sofas before.

I never liked sleeping on the couch. Too uncomfortable and too hot. Why sleep on the couch when I have huge and comfortable bed?

Yeah- I do not remember any aches and pains from "the way I slept" during my youth.

Couches still work fine for me...I'm STILL young.

The couch, the floor, the cot, the tabletop, the two armchairs set against one another, the windowsill, the landing on the stairs...,

Ain't that the truth.

Those days are over along with my healthy back.

Damn. I really am getting old...

At 20, I already have this problem. I can only imagine how much worse it'll be in 20 more years.
