I don't know if this is common of the fraternity at the national level, but the chapter at my college somewhat openly promoted vandalism. As part of their pledging period, older members could make requests of younger members, and it could involve just about anything. Sometimes it would be something that was just time consuming, like asking them to deliver a birthday cake to one of their relatives who lived a couple hundred miles away. But I also heard of some members requesting things like hub caps from a certain professor's car.
