 | Randyman (103) 01/23/2007 | I'm an aircraft mechanic at Boeing. There may, at times, be a need for someone on the job to use their cell, but nine times outta ten, it's some guy chatting with his wife. I look at using a cellphone while building an aircraft (in this case the C-17), similar to driving while on the phone. The job requires 100% attention, for both safety reasons, as well as the quality of the work. Lives depend on it.
But what gets me in every situation, not just at work, is having a good conversation with someone, their phone rings, with the phone to their ear, they look at me, and point the finger as to say "give me a minute". Now time is going by, and I've got to decide, do I stand here for God knows how long, and wait to continue the conversation, or do I just walk away! Is it just me?
