05/09/2008 | I remember Hurricane Elena in 1985. Although the damage to my home was minimal, it still caused much concern. I lost some trees and a large limb ended on my house. My children treated the whole event as an adventure but, deep down inside I think they were fearful like the rest of us.

07/31/2006 | not particularly destructive compared with other hurricanes on this list, but an interesting track--headed towards central Gulf Coast, turned east, stalled 75 miles off Cedar Key, and turned back to the WNW to hit Mississippi
