Eli managed to outwit the pass rush a couple of times in ways I didn't think probable. Good for him on making his own name, but I hope he doesn't forget to thank his receivers, especially that one who used his helmet as a third hand. :)

I have to admit a defeat in my criticism of Eli Manning. I still think he is overrated because of his last name, but he put together 4 great weeks of football in the playoffs this season, and proved that he certainly isn't a bust. While he might not become one of the all time greats, he has earned a good place in NFL history by helping the Giants to their 3rd Super Bowl victory.
7/29/2005 - Eli Manning's legacy is going to be the less talented and less successful brother of Peyton Manning. If Eli didn't have the same last name as his Dad and his brother, then there is no way he becomes the #1 pick in the Draft. Eli looks like a bust waiting to happen.

Eli Manning came of age in Super Bowl XLII. He clearly won the game and all in all was better on Sunday, February 3, 2008, than Tom Brady.

What a joke. Tiki Barber was right the other day - this guy's leadership is "almost comical." Falsely touted as "better than his brother" coming out of college, Eli seems to have heard all the praise, taken it as true, and arrogantly basked in all the vainglory. At the time, I took his arrogance toward the team that drafted him as unprecedented, though now it seems almost routine. But even Chargers fans have lost their reason for hating him -- they should thank him for the three superstars they got in exchange, and for sitting on top of the league. Poor NY Giants fans, though.

He took advantage of the Manning family name. Not as good as his brother, accuracy is a issue, and I question his leadership ability. I gave him 3 stars because he looks like a good all American boy.

He's already showing great signs of improvement. He's shown flashes of the Manning flair. I'd say next year is his breakout year.

He's progressing as a very talented NFL quarterback. It was a good idea to start him in his rookie season. The 2004 season might have been a tough one, but it will be worth it in the future.

Obviously, he must have talent to be in the NFL, but he's inevitably the first Manning to come into the league with an attitude, and that's not a surprise. He'll probably have a decent to great career, if he can get over his own hype.

He may still have a chance to yet succeed. But until then, Eli Manning deserves his notoriety as the player who picked the team he wanted to play for AND YET NOT DELIVER! Manning burned many bridges and alienated fans with his arrogance by refusing to play for the San Diego Chargers. Worse, Manning has not lived up to his promise as a great quarterback thus far for a team that is far more equipped for him to utilize his great talents evident in college. In essence, Eli Manning has backed himself in a corner and he must now prove his worth for the angst he has provoked early in his career.

The jury is still out.I don't think you can base a player on 7 or 8 games.Especially when they are a rookie.

Looks like he may have some talent, but so far all he's shown is a pack of attitude.

What a prick. This prima dona told San Diego not to draft him--then tried to keep it under wraps! What a d*ck. Hey, here's an idea, assh*le: why don't you EARN some respect instead of trading on your family's name before you even throw one pass in the NFL. I hope someone breaks your legs.
