Americans couldn't find Darfur with a map and internet and do not care about genocide- unless there is some form of financial or geopolitical incentive (real or imagined) for our government.

We should just go there and forcibly stop it all.

I am not in favor of intervention, but I would love to have Uncle Sam ship the rebels massive amounts of weapons to defend themselves against the murderous Mohammedan government in Khartoum. I love how Islam is the religion of "peace" as our learned President so often repeats.

Over 400,000 people have died (2 plus million have fled from their homes) because of government-sponsored genocide. Even Bush has called it the worst humanitarian crisis in the world today.

This is not a new problem, the muslims in the north of the country have tried to get rid of the non-muslim population in the south for 100s of years. This is a African problem and it should be taken care of by African countries. It time for the African continent to stand up and make an effort to progress into the 21st century. Countries such as Kenya Egypt and South Africa could said peace keeping troops to the area. The U.S and the rest of the West should not be expected to take care of every one elses mess.

As usual, international reaction to tragedy in Africa has been way too slow. The situation in Darfur is out of control. Yes the butchery is slowing down, but only because there aren't many villages left to pillage. It's disappointing to me that the Bush Administration felt comfortable acting unilaterally to 'liberate the Iraqi people,' but feels less comfortable in acting unilaterally to prevent genocide in Sudan.
