And here I thought I'd never see a walking,talking Dick!

Well, hopefully V.P. Cheney will do less swearing at fellow politicians and American citizens, less private discussions with business executives, and more public speeches than in his first term. Unfortunately, when we look at his uncompromising and profane nature, it is unlikely anything will change but his age in the next four years.

Cheney has a very straightforward approach, however he does continue to distort the record on a few issues, namely his insistance that Iraq was a threat to our national security that's frankly rather laughable. Of course, it wouldn't be politically advisable for him to do this in an convention speech, but it would surely lend his words a little more credibility. While lacking charisma, Cheney is very effective nonetheless, especially with conservative voters who see him as very reassuring. Many see him as a credible voice on national security matters, although Iraq and Afghanistan have (rightfully) caused many to question his competence and priorities.

A well-written and well-delivered speech, just enough barbs for Kerry (though he left the podium with more than a quiverful unspoken) but his biggest problem was to follow Zell Miller, who threw every javelin he had, and almost every one hit the mark. Expect a bounce of 5 to 8 points next week, try as the press might to paint the tone as mean and nasty. Check out CNN's propaganda machine and their dour expressions Wednesday and Thursday nights. Bushies, it's unfortunate but there's no time to enjoy it. Get to work.

I always appreciate it when the real president makes a public appearance.

I just love the way he brings out the whiner in the far left. After listening to Gore's screaming mimi whaaaaa whaaaa I can't get past the last election speech - Cheney's words made me feel like the grownups had finally arrived. If I'm going to hear someone bash the other side I at least want it to feel like the person has a little intestinal fortitude. Cheney is no wimp and he said some things that needed to be said. If you can dish it you need to learn to take it.

Cheney's speech was so mean-spirited and pretentious, I was honestly waiting for some sort of expletive to come from his lips.

His term as a vice president has been superb. He supports Bush on many issues and provides as a strong member to the Bush adminstration. His speech at the GOP convention was a little bit of a let down though. He needs to add fluctation to his voice.

Will try to hide the right-wing agenda for mass consumption, as usual.

I admire the VP's intellect and sense of reason. He has been a great suppoort system for Bush.
