ItemImageThis memorial is built on a battlesite of the American Revolution. The structure's image still largely reflects its appearance in 1845, when the British attacked. The enormous Star-Spangled Banner overhead is a central feature of the National Monument, and visitors are invited to take part in the daily changing of the flag.

Probably the best place to visit in Baltimore, even for natives. In fact, I think every school kid in the area has to go at least once (maybe its a law or something! just kidding)

Definitely a place to visit - at least once. Almost a religious feeling about it - I agree - all Americans should tour Fort McHenry at least once. Get in touch with who we are and how we started.

Makes you really feel like you are experiencing American history firsthand. Incredible to watch their short historical program and then view the majestic flag flying over the fort while listening to the national anthem.
