 | GenghisTheHun (173) 01/18/2008 | If you were drafted, you didn't have a choice as to assignments. If you wanted a choice, in the 1960's at least, you enlisted. Of course a draftee served only two years. An enlisted soldier served at least three and probably more if he exercised training or educational options.

 | AryanDan (2) 09/09/2004 | If I were drafted, I wouldn't do what was expected of a soldier, that is for sure. If I was force into the killing fields, I would take care of myself and not kill anyone unless my safety was at stake. Forcing people to kill is wrong! A draft is the worst form of slavery and I would be a horrible slave. I would allow the enemy to kill my captors, while I hid in safety. I would spread discontent and undermine the war effort on every occasion. These are reasons why a draft is NOT professional and is VERY dangerous; the army could get someone like me.
