When a woman decides to abort her baby, she should have to have her husband's consent. It is her body but half of that baby belongs to the father.
If men were the ones who have babies, do you think that wives would want their husbands to abort their babies without their consent? The answer is most likely no.
A house gets more protection than a baby. My mom and dad both own their house. My mom wouldn't be able to sell it without Dad's consent. If she tried to sell it by forging his name, she'd go to jail. Women are allowed to abort their babies and the fathers have no say so. Women want equal rights and so do men. When a woman aborts a baby without her husband's consent, it isn't treating him like an equal. It's treating him like a piece of shit.
If I get married and my wife has an abortion, it will hurt me very much. I'd probably be so hurt that I'd have to get a divorce. The law would give me no protection as a father. But the law would protect me if it was a house. That's pathetic.
Fathers are people too and they should be able to protect their own flesh and blood.

Don't go sleeping around without protection with the comfort that you can abort if you become pregnant. But if your conscience allows you to have an abortion, that's your decision and no one else's. Especially if you'll die or are raped, I believe you should be able to choose. If it were me I would never get an abortion under any circumstances, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't be able to make that choice for yourself. As a Christian I do believe that God wouldn't want a mother to kill her child, but who am I to tell someone what they can and cannot do with their body. I don't think God would want to be born into a desolate family living on the streets, or into an even worse situation either. Do what suits you.

I feel that I should not have a vote on this issue as I have no vagina. I severely lack baby-carrying parts.

Ultimately it is up to the woman so in my opinion they should be able to if they want.

Abortion wrong,, however consider these two scenario's... scenario 1.... woman is forced to
have a baby she doesn't want to have for whatever reason... she is mad at government, and
after having baby if she keeps it which she might not she treats him/her welll, raises him/her
after her beliefs end result tossup
scenario 2 woman aborts baby... baby goes to heaven ! smile smile,.,,, now woman
finds out how maybe baby was a person... she grieves for baby... she finds Jesus Christ
as her savior, then her Lord .... now some day when Jesus comes back or... she leaves this
earth, she is reunited with baby... a double check for God!

I have a hard time with this one.

A huge part of me thinks the government has no place in the home, and to me, the home includes family-planning decisions, autonomy over one's body, etc., etc.

But when people more medically savvy than I call abortion murder, a chill runs up my spine, and I think maybe unborn babies, who can't assert their own rights, deserve legal protection.

At the end of the day I usually arrive at the same conclusion: it should be up to the woman.

The very thought of abortion fills me with horror. It is murder. Contraception, yes, but if a life has been created, it should be nurtured. Only nature should dictate which babies are born and which are aborted - except we call it miscarriage in that case.

Ultrasound and other medical technology has proven Rowe v. Wade wrong. Noice the only people that support abortion are those that are already born.

It's not my place to tell a woman what they can or cannot do to their own body, especially being a man but I do have a problem with people using it as birth control.

i am totally against abortion....... if you can do the deed, then you must be prepared for the consequences...... There are many couples out there that can't have children, that want one...... however, if there is a jeopardy in the woman's life, that she might die if she has the child that is one instance that it would be ok. The only other one would be if the person was raped......

This one for me, I am very passionate about. I am very pro-life, and like a lot of other things, not for religious reasons, but because I do believe that from the moment of conception that there is a living organism growing, which is a baby. I feel that unless the mother is in danger of dying or having severe health consequences that the goal should be to get that baby to at least the minimum time at which they can be delivered either prematurely, and survive or taken to term.

The reason I feel so strongly is, a lot of time abortion is done out of convenience or selfishness. I think I read that maybe 1% or so are done to save the life of the mother. It's just, there are so many people who want healthy babies, who can't have them, and to just throw away a human life because you don't want to put on the 10-40 pounds of baby weight is really dehumanizing. Not to say that's the only reason a woman would abort, but I have heard of those cases before, and that is the height of selfishness, that along with alcohol and drug use while pregnant. Simply put, the best case is to put the baby up for adoption if you can't or don't want to take care of it.

My biggest issues with it right now though are: (1) Abortion as birth control; that should not even be allowed, I would sooner support sterilization... planned parenthood, who provides abortions also provides birth control, so there, you don't even have to buy condoms. (2) The fact that clinics, such as Planned Parenthood are able to perform abortions to underage girls, without parental notice or consent, yet you can't give them an aspirin at school without parental consent. Let's just say, if I had a daughter and I found out someone performed this procedure on her without my knowledge I would be finding a lawyer and finding out if there were any legal things we could get them on.
(3) The fact that people talk about babies like they are some kind of curse, or negative "thing", or a "punishment".

All that being said, those are my opinions, I know a lot of people don't agree with me, and that's fine, don't get me wrong, I'm not a militant pro-lifer, I am simply a person who values human life so much, despite it's imperfections.

The thing is, I can't completely say that I think it should be banned, because I am afraid that if it was, that many people would resort to back alley, coat hanger abortions, and that is even more terrifying, again, I don't want to see mother or baby dead, and in these cases, two lives might be lost.

I don't consider myself pro-choice, because when I hear people talk about pro-"choice", it always seems to be more about encouraging abortion over keeping the baby, carrying it for the 8.5-9 months and then putting it up for adoption.

The thing I am most horrified about is partial birth and late term abortion, especially when the babies end up miraculously surviving and they are denied treatment. That is truly a waste of a human life.

Like I said, respect all opinions, and when it comes down to it, I don't claim to try to tell someone else what to do with their body. I just know that if I were to be in this situation that if I chose to get rid of my baby I could not live with myself, and I'm sure that a lot of abortion survivors end up with a lot of mental health problems, if not after wards, later on--especially if they try to have a baby later on only to find they can no longer conceive.

I think first trimester abortions should be allowed. Second or third trimester only if the mother's life is in danger or they find something terribly wrong with the baby.

though I am a gay man - and will probably rarely find myself pregnant - that somehow I think disallows me to decide anything on what would never be an issue for me. I don't think it should be legal just for whores and dumbasses to abort because they aren't smart enough to buy a condom (and btw - if you can't afford a condom - you can't afford an abortion or a child)

Human gestation takes 21 months...that's right! The brain isn't fully formed until 1 year after birth...which technically means abortion is okay until then...or lets just call it 6 months...or the fifth trimester.

Every child should have a choice to live, and theres always other opions besides abortions like adoption! My mom had a choice, and she gave me a better life because she knew that she couldn't take care of me, she gave me a better life of love, hope, and I proud of her for letting me live, and she gave me to a better family, and the family that I have is the best family that I could ever have.

If there's a problem with the feotus while still inside of the mother's womb and it's jeopardizing the health or the future health of the mother and abortion is the only means as to save the life of the mother, I'm all for it as long as it's not a second or third trimester abortion.
