human nature At least it shows you have a conscience.most of us have said things we wish we had not.I know I have. and have been the victim of someone else. true that sometimes it is better to remain silent than say something you know you will regret. at least give them kudos for regretting what they say. some people are brutally outspoken and are NEVER sorry for anything they say.

Because we can't see the future, and we can't help ourselves.

And both are for the better.

As Ralph Kramdon (Jackie Gleason) used to say "I've got a BIIIIG mouth!" We can all plead guilty on this one from time to time.

And furthermore.. This brings to mind the old saying "It's better to be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".

I've given up all hope. In my life I've said thousands of things I regretted later, and will probably do it yet more. The only safe course of action is not to say anything ever again--but how much fun would that be?

According to some research, "impulses typically travel along neurons at a speed of anywhere from 1 to 120 meters per second" (http://www.people.eku.edu/ritchisong/301notes2.htm;) apparently, the human mouth travels much faster than that. I know sometimes mine has, but I try to maintain a speed limit when I remember.

I rarely say things I regret, as I mean what I say and I meant to say it.
