My wife and I ate here a couple of years ago and we still have not forgotten that great meal we had. We started our meal with the Gulf Shrimp appetizer, which was fantastic., with with big, meaty jumbo shrimp and a great tangy cocktail sauce. I had the Corned Beef and Cabbage and it was delicious. I make a fair Corned Beef and Cabbage myself, but this was at a whole different level. My wife Jeri had the Fettucine Carbonara that she still raves about. We also had a few beers with the owner who took the time to actually sit and talk with us for quite a while, he was very entertaining.. He was a Scottish immigrant that has made good in the U.S. The place has one of those long polished wooden bars in a somewhat narrow entranceway that opens up into the restaurant as you keep walking. This place is also a gathering spot for Celtic fans and is billed as the Home of the Manhattan No. 1 Celtic Supporter's Club. All in all this was a great restaurant with great service, great atmosphere and great food. I recommend it. Update: I forgot to mention that the theme in this restaurant is boxing. My wife Jeri and I were leaving the Empire State building when I saw the restaurant, so naturally I had to check it out. For some reason they spell Demsey's without a P in the name, Jack spelled his Dempsey. Perhaps it has something to do with some legality.
