Every once in a while I think about this flight I had from Oakland to Boston a couple years back. When I located my seat, I was greeted with a bearhug by a highly intoxicated girl from SF who was offering all kinds of information about herself. She explained that since she lives in Chinatown she has now converted to Chinese, and could speak fluent Chinese and then she began speaking it. I know no Chinese, but I'm pretty sure that whatever she was speaking wasn't it. At some point during this one-way conversation, still before we took off, a guy came over and asked to speak with the girl outside the plane. When she asked "Why?" he said b/c we're escorting you off the flight. Sure she was annoying but to be thrown off a flight for drinking seemed a little harsh to me. I later figured that she might become difficult or throw up on the plane and ruin everybody's flight. What really stunk for her about this deal is that the flight was a red-eye, so I'm sure she had to wait until at least the next day, and she had a 10-year high school reunion in Boston that afternoon which she may have missed completely.
