Felix Hernandez has been impressive so far, but what other pitching do they have? The Mariners have been mediocre for a while now, and I don't see them making enough progress this year to put them in contention for a playoff spot.

No bench, no starting pitching, not much hitting. You do the math.

Should be a little bit better, but I'd still pick them for last in the A.L. West. Their closer was good last year, and they have a heralded prospect named Felix Hernandez, but not a lot of strength in the rotation though the bullpen is quite solid. Sexson can still hit blasts, and Suzuki's still an exciting player, and their catcher is good, but aside from Raul Ibanez they really don't have much else. Beltre is looking more and more like a one year wonder and they just don't have the depth to go very far.
