They've got some horses, and they've got some pitching. If they beat the Sox in the first round, they have a real shot at going to the Series.

I'm predicting the Angels to win the AL West primarily because the rest of the division looks very weak to me. Vlad is a stud and will put up huge numbers like usual. Howie Kendrick is a young guy I think will have a good season to jump out on the scene, however the rest of their offense is just average. The Angels have the ability to have a great pitching staff, but there are some question marks. Bartolo Colon's health and Jered Weaver's first full year in the majors are issues. Lackey, Ervin Santana, and Kelvim Escobar might not be great, but shouldn't let their team down either. The key to this team pulling the division off will probably be their stellar bullpen. They lost Brendan Donnelly but did a good job of replacing him with Justin Spier. Scott Shields and Fransisco Rodriguez provide a great 1-2 punch to finish games off.

The staff is solid overall, they play fundamentally sound baseball, and by default they're good enough to win the A.L. West, which is a relatively weak division. The problem is, aside from Guerrero, their offense is mostly pedestrian.
