This is the best of the small schools, and their match up with an explosive ND team should be one of the best of the opening round. Winthrop is athletic, talented, and experienced. They are used to trouncing teams, and haven't lost much in the last few years. They won't be intimidated.

Eschewobfuscation may be wrong on Winthrop. Although they have a tough matchup with Notre Dame, they are no pushover. In addition to demolishing their conference, they have beat ODU(Tourney Team) and Missippi State(SEC Team). Their 4 losses have also come against teams that have tourney seeds of 1,2,3, and 4.

How is this team not in the play-in game?  14-0 in the Big South conference, beating up on Coastal Carolina and Liberty?  Friends on the committee or something?  Notre Dame should send them home early, like after the first half.  They should thank their lucky stars for the brevity of their trip.
