money helps you get by better but i hope it does not define a person. I just turned 50 and we had to start all over again becuase of job loss.{ my husband's place of work closed after he was there for 23 years} we are getting by with less and it has been very tough. and life changing. so I would really hope that we are not judged by having or not. as Randy man said i would hope seeing the children we have raised turning into good feet on the ground citizens. and trying to be decent people.

Now turning 50 this year, I've found a lot of things are more important than $$$$$

It's important and yes we need money when we retire, however, it is not how I define my own success. My success is measured by the seeds I have planted, my children. They are my legacy. I don't want to be measured by how much I have or don't have in my bank account . Still it can and does improve the quality of life.

As people get closer to the retirement years they do measure how successful they are by how much they have in their pension or savings.
