It is definitely odd when persons you have not met ask about your age - what does it matter to them? The internet is the great equalizer. That, and a Colt 45.

Not an issue now (I stay away from chat rooms and message boards,and besides that, no one is going to hit on someone who's 26 and married), but when I was about 14 and posting stuff on message boards on Prodigy, there'd be those scary folks who would ask my age and ask to meet. Gross. Naive as I was, I could still figure that there's something wrong with 30-40 year olds (or someone claiming to be that old) seeking the company of 14-year-olds.
