If you can't take the truth - don't ask for it!

On this topic I adhere to the principle of:

"Ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies."

Why did you ask in the first place?  Do you really want to argue about this?  If you can't handle the answers I give, don't ask the questions!  (Just like CS said!)

Probably one of the bigger reasons why my husband's dad and I don't get along.  Before my husband and I were engaged, but we've been together for a long time, his dad wanted me in on a very important family meeting.  I told him I felt that it was not my place, but he insisted.  So, when he asked my opinion on something, I stood up for my then-boyfriend and suggested a lot of things he didn't like (long story short, I felt that having my husband go through the eviction process to be a really dumb idea, even if "it will only be for a few months".).  After that, things have been rather strained.

I have learned from experience on this one...LIE!!!
