Actually, we managed to annoy the authorities far more than they annoyed us.They said belts were mandatory on any trousers that had belt loops. We cut off the loops on our Levis. They said no hair below the collar. We had ours cut like Jerry Lee lewis. They said shirts must have collars. I wore Mr. B. shirts:

There weren't any dress codes to speak of at any of the schools I went to when I was growing up. But it seems as though the older I get, the better the idea sounds. Many are the times some kids get made fun of because they don't wear the "hottest" fashions (either because of conservative tastes, or because their family may not be able to afford it). This doesn't change the sad fact that even with uniforms and/or dress codes, they will always find something to make fun of (such as hair, looks, or even mannerisms).Overall, I'm somewhat indifferent about this issue.Or, I can settle it once and for all. If I were a headmistress of a school, I'd make all the students wear overalls! ;-)

School is a place of learning, not a fashion show. Anything that could be distracting from the main purpose, must be eliminated.
