Al's glorified power point presentation has many deficiencies in it, as ruled by a British court, among other sources. Are we in a "planetary emergency" No.
Scientist (many of them) who are critics of Al Gore's fear mongering are wrote off as hacks for the oil industry, anthropogenic global warming is just as political to Gore and his hacks.

I have plenty to say on this CS, and it is based on science.

(This is a partial re-post of a comment I left under one of EO's comments, but I'm hoping for a response from someone who can clarify this).

There had been a few assertions on here that this "documentary" is required viewing for students in the US; of what I do know of the film, it is definately more point of view rather than solid science (definately in the "fear mongering" category, regardless of point of view. The way that it's presented is not suitable for an educational setting).

I have found that it has become required in OTHER countries in Europe for viewing (http://www.cbc.ca/arts/film/story/2007/02/02/gore-film.html, http://www.theherald.co.uk/news/news/display.var.1126957.0.0.php), but the few instances I've found for the US seems to have been blocked (http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/299253_inconvenient11.html, http://www.nsta.org/pressroom&news_story_ID=52959).

Does anyone actually have resources on this? Please post.

I swear that this film is really meant to show Gore (an absolute dud without a shred of charisma) as a talking head meant to draw cries of 'conspiracy' thus damaging the message of the dangers of global warming. . .I wish Gore would go away and let scientists do the talking. . .then again, I wish Americans had enough brains to listen to scientists instead of failed politicians or zealots. . .

They are actually giving kids a failing grade in schools for arguing with any of the information, but even the New York Times said that alot of the data was misrepresented or flat out wrong.
