To really enjoy rock music, you have to cranck it, its the way it was meant to be played. To those who are bothered by my music, I apologize, but try to enjoy it with me. You may end up liking it.

Not always. I have probably been guilty of playing my music too loud.on occasion. I would hope someone nearby would nicely tell me to turn it down and I surely would.and apologise for being too loud. I would not play too loud on purpose. another half and half some may play loud and not mean to be annoying others. and then there are some who do it and just dare you to say something. then it is grow up.

***irish puts the top down on the Mustang, clips on the shades, turns out onto the freeway up the Fraser valley, slips Warren Zevon into the CD, puts it on the mat and starts helping the oil cartels make a profit as he blasts the speakers out of the doors ****
In my case, in the scenario above, its got bugger all to do with belligerence. Its just raw, visceral, pleasure.

Not necessarily true, but probably applies to most of the people who feel the need to crank it up at about 2:00 am.
lmorovan 05/14/2008
Hardly. Sometimes the amplification equipment is not working properly. Sometimes the acustics of the room is terrible. Some times the instrument has no volume control. And most of the time, the player simply loves to hear himself above the others.

Not necessarily all the time, but I think a good share of the time this is probably pretty true.
SZinHonshu 11/27/2007
Not even remotely accurate. Of certain types of music (speed metal, acid rock, etc.), loud is simply the way it is best presented/heard/absorbed.
bri719 03/21/2007
Couldn't be more true. they're all doing it for attention
pugwash01 03/20/2007
I think not, although this is an annoying trait of people; has anyone thought that they are just so much enjoying the song/music that they are jamming!!! I think we can all say that we have done this and I apologize for the noise Colorado: but I was just enjoying the music!!!
Mad Hatter 03/20/2007
Sometimes you just heard the right song and just have to crank it up.
