 | twansalem (36) 05/15/2008 | There is the obvious exception for those that are hard of hearing, and a lot of people tend to talk louder when they get excitied, but most people who talk very loudly on a regular basis do come off as pushy and brassy.

 | Donovan (129) 05/14/2008 | Sometimes this could be true or the person may just be hard of hearing. Have you ever put on headphones in a library? With them on, you start talking to someone and quickly the librarian comes over to you with her finger in front of her mouth saying shhhhhh. The same is true for the hard of hearing; limit outside noise and you talk much louder.

 | cyclee (18) 05/14/2008 | My first assumption of these people is that they may have hearing problems, and if that's not the case, my second assumption would be that these people may be redheads who dyed their hair because they're vain.

 | lmorovan (12) 05/14/2008 | Depends. In a small room it is indeed annoying. But in a crowd, it is the right thing to do if one wants to be heard.

 | frogio (47) 05/14/2008 | Never mind the bolstered pitch of the few. It's those bluetoothed dolts who stand at the checkout counter and seemingly talk to themselves about subject matters that I assume to be simplistic, stupid and all out needless. Really...keep your sad personal lives out of my chip dip, if you please.

 | Molfan (57) 02/19/2008 | sometimes it can be true. depends on the person. get to know the person first. some may not realize how loud they are talking. others hard of hearing. and then then some ARE obnoxious and want that attention. would not be fair to assume right away if someone is pushy because of a loud voice.

 | James76255 (17) 01/17/2008 | Out of the people I know that are loud I'd say it's about half and half. Some are obnoxious people who think speaking just this side of yelling makes them seem more important. I also know a couple that yell at the top of their lungs when they have something negative to say about someone else because of the apparent belief that if they make the person look bad to people two states over it makes them look that much better. On the other hand, some of the nicest, happiest people I know, who would never say anything bad about anyone, also speak at an ear splitting volume.

 | LadyJesusFan777 (33) 10/31/2007 | I think this is true in some cases, and it can be quite irritating if this is the case, but one should really get to know someone before coming to this conclusion. Remember everybody is different.
