If you watched Titanic by yourself because you like it, cried, then watched it again, and cried again, you're a Lakers fan. Good luck with that...

I'm a mick.  Get a few jars in me, put some maudlin music on and start swapping lies with me about something I love, and like the rest of my benighted Hibernian race, I'm likely to tear up.

Of course, if you piss me off about it, I'm likely to go find my shillellagh.

I am a boy, and I shed a tear or two at a funeral today, and so did many of the other men there.

Men who have the courage to cry sometimes are admirable. Men who cry all the time are, well, over-emotional.

Any man who is able to display emotion is a strong man to me.

A little off the subject: Apparently there are some who haven't been understanding my purpose for this list, so I'll use this post to make things a little clearer for those individuals that need things spelled out for them. Just because I list an item doesn't mean I "believe it". Anyone should be able to notice that my personal ratings of these items are low. I hate stereotypes as much as the next person, which is the very point I'm trying to make. That they are stereotypes and sadly there are many who make such assumptions and take them for gospel. Rest assured, though, I am not one of them.

I think it just shows true compassion.

Some of my closet friends are men that are not ashamed, to show their feelings!! Crying does not in anyway show a man to be wimpy!! Some of the strongest men either phisically or mentally like: Muhammad Ali, Fraizer, Lord Admiral Louis Mountbatten, A Lincoln, Churchill the list could go on! (They would not be considered wimps!) They have all shown times when their emotions, got the better of them!!! People that don't show emotions are people that you should watch out for, as they will normally explode sooner or later for the worst!!!!

I have seen the biggest of macho men cry like children once in awhile. I, personally, find nothing wrong with a good cry every now and then, it's good for you. Besides, I'd rather this than deal with a guy who bottles everything in and then just explodes one day.

Just because a man cries doesn't make him a wimp, but being overly emotional about things on the other hand demonstates a lack of control and maturity, in both men and women.

The last thing I need when I've just been through the roughest of the rough is some posh guy who has the world's most perfect life going "Oh I say what a wimp." Walk a mile in the shoes first pal.

UPDATE: Hey, I ain't gonna say that you gotta be some stoic jarhead or anything, and yes, even Jesus wept, but most of the time its just not done. Never think less of yourself for it because that keeps you human, but be a man and keep it to a minimum!

Depends on WHY.  There's a difference between men who break down because their dog died and men who cry about EVERYTHING.

Just call me wimpy.

I agree, Donovan. Even Jesus wept. Although it didn't happen often, there were times when I literally let loose a serious wail, and boy does it feel cleansing afterwards.

There is nothing wimpy about a man who sheds a tear. It is a sign of compassion and actually it takes a brave man to let down his emotional hangups because some may have a problem with it.
