What? It's not like I really care about what other people think of me like my writing or speaking you know.

The only time this kind of speech was ever acceptable/non-irritating was when it was being done to make fun of people who actually do it. Larraine Newman nailed it and became the standard 30+ years ago. Sadly, I think some people saw these SNL gems in their formative years and misunderstood that this way of speaking was not meant to actually be perpetuated. That it continues to this day is kind of phenomenal in and of itself.

Like, y'know, I can't like think of anything, y'know, that like pisses me off more, y'know.

This is very annoying. It shows a lack of learning and inability to think.

I didn't know that was annoying.  Sometimes I do that.  One day, I was doing that all day hanging out with this girl until she suddenly BLEW UP in my face, "Would you SHUT UP!!!"  I had no idea it was annoying enough to be someone's pet peeve.

Like, you're totally annoying, ya know?

Valley girl is dead (or should be), like, you know what I mean? It's like nails on a chalkboard, you know? So, like, we should just scratch those three words from the English language, you know?
