These guys are awful. Totally useless. Delivery took over three months, and several items lost or damaged. To be fair, they are only freight forwarders, so do not have total control over each stage of the move, and they are cheaper than their better quality competiton, however the movers they sent to pick up the shipment in New York (where they should have decent control over their suppliers) were total amateurs. Items were badly packaged, and several items were shipped without being packaged into the proper moving boxes. In addition, the one area where they have total control, ie in dealing with customer queries and documentation, they are abysmal. Different staff contradict each other and frequently themselves, and take ages to get back to you with anything (if they ever do get back to you). The quotes are also not all-inclusive (we were stung for movers tips that appeared non-negotiable and excessive at both ends, as well as unexpected customs clearance fees (again out of NYIS' direct control, but they should have been able to give a rough guide to such costs, and no warnings were given). Finally all of the positive reviews on this site look very similar, as if they have been written by the same illiterate marketing graduate hired by NYIS. Smells fishy to me. In summary, sell all of your cheap furniture, only take ship you need, and pay the extra for a professional mover to get it to your destination on time and in one piece.

9/26/08 - FYI, we are STILL waiting to receive our shipment - apparently now the delay is due to the Olympics and it's likely to take another month or so. This is beyond ridiculous. We could have flown back and forth with items in cabin baggage and still completed the move faster than this.

7/21/08 - Have still not received confirmation of the final payment two weeks after sending it. Also, no word yet on when our stuff will actually be shipped - it is now week SEVEN since it was picked up - these guys just really really suck! What a crappy way to run a business. RTurner's puerile post does not merit a response, but feel free to draw your own conclusions and make your own decisions. I couldn't care less which company you use. Just be warned. 6/30/08 - So, we finally received an invoice from them last week. The final bill was for 350 cu. ft., at $11.95 per cu. ft. and not $10.95 per cu. ft. as per our initial quote (to be fair they had written 11.95 on the contract that we signed, but we didn't read the fine print carefully enough to catch the change). Given all the issues to date, we have asked for the use of an escrow service and are still waiting to hear back from them. Additionally, they had previously offered a discount for the poor service, which we have now asked them about repeatedly, but have received no response. We are also still waiting to receive proof of insurance for our belongings, four weeks into the move. Stay tuned... 6/24/08 - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! It is highly likely that the reviews of this organisation on this and other sites have been falsely manipulated by the company. We read many of these reviews and chose NY Shipping to help us with an international move. We couldn't have made a worse choice. After repeated assurances that they would be there to pick up our belongings at 9 AM on a Friday, they hired Dumbo Movers (stay away from them!!!) who showed up three hours late, offered no apology, left the house in an absolute mess, and made us miss our own farewell. Since then NY shipping has provided neither an invoice, nor a final quote. Their agent Wayne Townsend is absolutely incompetent and keeps sending us marketing emails as if we were prospects rather than actual customers. We have emailed and called them repeatedly for the past 3 weeks and still have not received an invoice. Every time we talk to them they seem focused only on continuing to inflate the amount of space occupied by our belongings. They initially used the inventory list to provide a quote of 150 cu ft. The movers packed it into the back of a truck and said it would actually be a bit more (around 200-250 cu. ft.). However, NY Shipping keep telling us that it will be 500 cu. ft. Given that we had a one-bedroom apartment and the only furniture being moved is a couch, this is ridiculous. Furthermore, it has been more than three weeks since the move and our stuff is all still in a warehouse somewhere in NY and has not even been invoiced. We will continue to post updates on this company as our experience with them continues, and would be happy to revise our opinion if corrective actions are taken but as of now we STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you DO NOT USE NY SHIPPING. We will also be informing the administrators of this and other review websites about the suspected manipulation of ratings for this company.

Don't do it. This is the biggest mistake you will ever make. When I get finished making my insurance claims I'll find the time to report the details. For now, please take my advice and DON'T MAKE THIS MISTAKE. This company will SCREW YOU!

I used NY international shipping for my move from Orlando FL to Amsterdam, Netherlands and was very satisfied with the services they provided. They packed up all my boxes and were professional from the first time when I called to get the rate. Eli was very nice over the phone and explained in details what this move involves. Too bad it took longer for the shipment to arrive but overall they were great.

NY international shipping is one of the most professional companies I ever known to exist! They stood up by their word and provided me with excellent service. On 8/4/2008 I was provided with their moving services from New York, to Barcelona, Spain. I have to say that it was a smooth and well taken care of experience. They came on time and packed all of my belongings. They brought many packing materials which I was not charged for. I will highly recommend my friends and family on using NY international Shipping for international services. They only thing I was concern was getting my ETA but after a few back and forth emails and phone calls they gave it to me. People need to realize that this is not a move from GA to CA or to Texas. International shipping involves many tasks and setbacks due to our great economy and market. Once you understand this issue everything else just gets so much easier and stress free. Thank you NY international for being there for me, I am now about to receive my goods in Spain and sure that it will be just as smooth completion of my move as it was from the start.

im afraid the glowing reviews do not go into detail and all seem suspiciously the same tone and language. This company is a complete disaster--not organized, never follow-up, very irresponsible.

Simply, they are about a few months late on everything, and are not professional in any respect. Stacy and Townsend are especially useless in way of being helpful.

the logistics and accounting seem to operate on a different planet, never in coordination with the main client side. They seem to misplace, lose and forget important documents/matters.

I would not recommend them to anyone.

So I found these guys on the internet and thought they had a pretty slick website. I called them up and now dealing with Wayne Townsend.

8/10/08- Picked up my parcels. They outsourced a different mover to pick up my stuff.

8/14/08- I didn't hear back from them. I emailed them to check on the status of my parcels. Wayne swiftly emailed me back and told me he will check with logistics.

8/22/08- I was promised a proper invoice Monday. NOT RECEIVED
I was assured that my parcels will be picked up on Thursday

I was assured that my parcels will put put on a Sunday Flight on
August 24th
PENDING

Numerous calls to the company were met with long waits and dropped calls.
Numerous emails and voice mails to Wayne Townsend to find a solution to this problem were met with silence

So far, I am VERY UNHAPPY with the service. I'm in the process of trying to get my stuff back from them

I used this company when I moved back to the states and I have to agree with all the other post, they are simply great. They are very professional, trust worthy and good at what they do.

Don't use this company - we did and boy did we regret it. Our shipment was late, no communication, just an really sad experience. Shop elsewhere and don't trust them.
Also, as I read the other reviews I realized they can't all be true - no one is that good. My bet - they company wrote them and posted the reviews. Do not trust this company or their slick marketing.

I checked out their website I filled out a form and I got a call. The woman I spoke with was nice and she took the time to go through all of my needs with me. The moving day came and these guys were great it was a simple set up with a perfict execution, these guys wowed me. If you are moving make sure you use NY Internationalyou'll thank me.

I love to snowboard all over the world. I move to an area and ride there for a couple of months but I always want my stuff to come with me. I checked out rate it all and saw how everyone was raving about NY International so I tried them. Dude these guys were totaly awsome. I need to move from England to NY really fast. NY International shipping really helped me out.
