There are different friends I will go to on different things and who come to me with the same stories.  Having moved around a bit I have about 8 or 10 guys that I will go that are very close and will get their perspective.  The only very close girl I have in my life is my sister.  It's great when she comes to me for relationship advice - I kind of laugh but I do have a guys perspective.  I have other female friends but not to take personal stuff with, that's for the guys.  One of my confidants has been Ridge who has been phenomenal and has been sort of a mentor in work/life, having many similar interests and having done them all extremely well.  I do like talking to people who can listen and not be too judgemental/just helpful and I try to do the same.

I've been lucky in life to have had good friends and there have been times when I have gone to them at one time or another and they have done the same as well, but in those really hard, dark times of trouble, the real crisis' in life, I go to my wife. She is my best friend.

Usually the times you find out who your trust friends are.

When I was younger and single this would have been the case.  My closest friends would have helped me through the more serious issues of my 20's (which all seem kind of trivial to me at this juncture).  But my wife and increasingly my kids have assumed this responsibility.

Numbah may have inspired me once or twice but most of the time it's all about the chuckleheaded fun, as he put it.

That's if I can get a word in edgewise...

Yep, just hope I don't wear out his ear.  If the crisis involves women, it usually does.

Mad Hatter is great for chuckleheaded fun but I don't think he inspires me that much...

My spouse IS my best friend.  We share everything together.

The very first person that I turn to is my best friend. We are almost the same age, from almost the same ethnic background, and have almost the same personalities, viewpoints, and opinions - who will understand me better than him?
