Ask the boss for help so that they can add more to your personal file and use it against you when you have to take time off work to deal with your crisis so that the company doesn't ahve to pay you/take you back. Brilliant.

Not a bad place to go if the crisis is work related, unless the boss is the source of the crisis. But if it is a personal problem, it's usually best to deal with it on your own time.

I'm my own boss, to some degree, so I guess I bring crisis to myself. When I do have a boss, I would bring a work crisis, but I try to have a solution to present. When I have people who report to me, I'll listen to their non-work related crisis story if they want to tell me, but I'd rather they left it home.

He's too busy, and I wouldn't want to burden him with my crud anyway. If the crisis involves work, well, yeah, that's worth another star, but remember that your boss wants to hear solutions, not problems. As of the people who work for me: I care about them, but wish they'd try to leave their personal problems at home as much as they can.

Unfortunately, truly inspirational bosses are, for the most part, hard to come by....and generally not a good source for personal confidence.

My bosses are cool and all, but I don't have that close of a relationship with them!

NO - it will sound like a cry for help and I hate when people feel sorry for me!
