OK, he's not the world's most terribly original designer, but he's eminently wearable. A billion shoppers can't be wrong. RL and his team of designers are clever at taking the classics, spinning them around, and making them that much more fun and sexy. An ordinary safari jacket becomes extraordinary in gold nubuck. A plain cashmere cardigan becomes romantic with ruffles cascading down the front. A navy blue blazer inches its way up to "hot" with a fitted waist and shortened length. It's also amazing how he can put some of the most unlikely combinations together and make it look so natural--like a black evening gown with a concho belt. Bravo, Ralph.
