You got to admit that they have a point: American Idol is not about singing at all, it's about making good reality TV. To tell you the truth, Sanjaya's mohawk is more fascinating than the recycled pseudo-celebrities or Simon's favorites.

They should encourage fans to VFTW in Dancing with the Stars, So you think you can dance, Make me a supermodel, or any voting type reality show. Just to make things more interesting.

UPDATE: I joined and supported Sanjaya last year. What an uplifting experience.

I'd never heard of this until the guy who started it showed up on Letterman last night. It seems like good fun. Letterman said he thought it was the first time that he had heard of the internet being used for something useful. Good to see people power is still possible in this day and age.

I'll be the first to say that American Idol sucks hard, but the only thing lamer than this show is putting in this much effort to get it off the air. Let the American Idol nerds have their fun, unless you prefer that they have free time to force their preferences into our hobbies . . .

This Seasons "Idol" really exposes the lack of credibility concerning the show's musical content.I always thought over the last two seasons that it was a little bit "off".To be sure ,there is a melting pot of talented young people on the program ,but I feel that the show is a sham because the program always had an "air" of being a full out popularity contest,having said that,this program needs to be put out of it's misery.The talent is good,but not judged appropriately by the viewers or the panel of judges.What a joke! Simon wouldn't know talent if it bit him in the nose ,he should get off permanently and go find an occupation in the line of mall security where he can play hall monitor where I'm sure he'd enjoy picking on"mall rats". Randy is so full of himself.It is positively revolting the way he overplays his "cool dude" hype,he knows nothing at all about talent either.I believe that American Idol fans represent a wide variety of culture and taste.Some of the high marks he gives some of the contestants really begs to question whether he he ever knew anything about music.Paula is sweet but she leans hard toward the pretty guy's so.....anyway. I am definitely voting for Sanjaya mainly because if he does win, this is for sure the last season we will have to endure this far gone,washed out,over-the-hill, unreal "reality show" gone bad. American Idol ! Get on with it!Certainly the duly talented Fox TV Producers shouldn't have any problem at all delivering the type of programs that they are well-known for and we all love to watch in the place of an already gone program.

I think this is great! The entire Idol thing is a bunch of tripe, so any deliberate attempt to poke fun at it or reveal it for what it is by skewing the "results" is welcome and very funny.

I hate these guys. I'm about to start voting over this crap and I never have voted once for Idol before. That kid blows goats and if he gets a recording contract I may puke...
